First Statutory Committee of the Ministry Meeting – 2026

Today, Friday 20th March 2026, the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) held the First Statutory Committee of the Ministry Meeting at the Synod Office Hall, Buea.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Rt. Rev. Miki Hans Abia, Moderator of the PCC, supported by the Synod Clerk, Rev. Ayuk Solomon Eta, and the Financial Secretary, Mr. Ngole Ndive Mbuayo Mosuka, while the Committee of the Ministry is led by its Secretary, Rev. Emmanuel B. Masok.

Guided by the theme, “Strengthening; Edifying: A Call for Christ-Centered Moral Leadership, the Safeguarding of the Ministries of the Church and the Preservation of Our Reformed Heritage,” the gathering provided an important platform for reflection, evaluation, and strategic direction for the life and mission of the Church.

The meeting began with a meditation from the Synod Office Chaplain, Rev. Fosimundi, who meditated from Phil. 15:15-25 on the theme, “Strenght in Suffering, a call to joyful perseverance.”

The Committee of the Ministry deliberates on matters concerning the ministry of the Church, drawing from reports presented by key departments and institutions, including the Men’s Work Department, Women’s Work Department, Youth Work Department, Lay Training and Evangelism, the Communication Department, and the Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Kumba.

Its membership is made up of the Moderator as Chairman, the Secretary of the Committee of the Ministry, the Synod Clerk, and the Financial Secretary, alongside departmental heads, institutional leaders, pastors’ representatives, elders’ representatives, movement presidents, and other key officers of the Church. Present at the meeting were Rev. Prof. Mbengu David, Secretary of the Constitution Committee; Rev. Dr. Perpetua Fonki, National Communication Secretary; Rev. Ndip Philip Nkongho, National Secretary for Lay Training and Evangelism; Rev. Mrs. Uso Theresia Berndzeh, National Secretary of the Women’s Work Department; Rev. Paul Ngu Tah, National Secretary of the Men’s Work Department; Rev. Dr. Kang Felix Esoh, Dean of PTS Kumba; Rev. Wa-Ekosano Joshua Modika Cameroon, National Secretary of the Youth Work Department; Rev. Numfor Godwin, General Scholarship Secretary (Acting) and Male Pastors’ Representative; Mr. Essaw Samgwa’a, Education Secretary; Dr. Nyaah Fidelis B. N, Health Services Secretary (on permission); Mrs. Eben Jessy Mpwate, Development Secretary; Rev. Mary N. Wose, Female Pastors’ Representative; Rev. Foncham Ezekiel, Male Pastors’ Representative; Elder Mukwele Bertha Sume, Elder’s Representative; Elder Fokam Florence, Elder’s Representative; Elder Forghab Patrick Mbomba, Elder’s Representative; Mrs. Nkwelle Julie, CWF National President; Mr. William Tuva Njie, CMF National President; Mr. Wanye Julius A., CYF National President; and Mrs. Akande Blessing A., Director of Internal Audit.

The deliberations of the meeting bring out resolutions and recommendations suggested to the Synod that help to review and shape the ministry of the Church. The meeting reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to faithful stewardship, effective ministry, strong leadership, and the preservation of its Reformed heritage.

As the PCC continues to strengthen and edify its structures, the focus remains on building a Church that reflects Christ in both word and action.
