“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” This Chinese proverb came true today in history, as the Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba, Moderator of the PCC has officiated at the foundation pecking of the new Synod Office building.

This landmark activity took place today Tuesday 22nd September 2020, at the project site in the Synod Office in Buea. There onsite were the Synod Clerk – the Rev. Miki Hans Abia, the spouse of the Moderator – Rev. Dr. Perpetua Fonki, the Financial Secretary – Mr. Ngole Mbuayo Ndive Mosuka, the Education Secretary – Mr. Njie Samuel Kale, the Contractor and workers.

As stated in Psalm 127:1, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.”In a chained up prayer, the Moderator called on God to be the protector of all involved in the construction of this edifice which will bring glory to His name. Worthy of note is the fact that the current Synod office which has been serving as such for more than 5 decades will be converted into a Presbyterian Hospital immediately after the New Synod office is constructed.

In the words of Louis Kahn, “A great building must begin with the immeasurable, must go through measurable means when it is being designed, and in the end must be unmeasured.”

May God take the glory for the services of his servants.
